Fire Alarm Systems

From design and installation to programming and testing, we deliver fire alarm systems that protect lives and pass inspection the first time.

Complete Fire Alarm System Services

A fire alarm system is the backbone of any building's life safety infrastructure. It detects fire conditions, alerts occupants, notifies emergency responders, and controls building systems like elevator recall, HVAC shutdown, and door release. In California, fire alarm systems must be designed, installed, tested, and maintained in accordance with NFPA 72 (the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), California Title 19, and California Title 24, with all components carrying California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) approval.

Delta Fire Equipment provides turnkey fire alarm services for commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-family residential properties across California. Whether you need a new system designed from scratch, an existing panel upgraded, or annual testing and certification, our licensed fire alarm technicians handle every aspect of the project from start to finish.

Design and Engineering

Every fire alarm project at Delta begins with a thorough site survey and code analysis. Our designers evaluate the building's occupancy classification, square footage, ceiling heights, ambient noise levels, and existing infrastructure to develop a system that meets all applicable codes while fitting your budget. We produce complete engineered drawings and device layouts, submit plans to the local AHJ for permit approval, and coordinate with architects, general contractors, and other trades as needed.

Our design team has deep experience with addressable, conventional, and networked fire alarm systems from major manufacturers. We can design systems for single buildings or campus-wide networks that link dozens of panels across multiple structures to a unified command center. Every design accounts for future expansion, so adding devices or zones down the road never requires a full system replacement.

Installation and Programming

Our installation crews are factory-trained on the fire alarm platforms we install, ensuring clean wiring, proper device placement, and reliable connections. We install all system components including fire alarm control panels (FACPs), smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, manual pull stations, horn/strobes, speaker/strobes, monitor and control modules, and annunciator panels.

After physical installation, our technicians program every device address, zone assignment, notification appliance circuit, and system response into the panel. Programming determines how the system behaves during an alarm, trouble, or supervisory event, including which devices activate, which zones cross-zone, and how signals route to the monitoring station. Proper programming is the difference between a system that performs flawlessly and one that generates nuisance alarms or fails to notify the right people.

Testing and Acceptance

Before any fire alarm system goes live, Delta performs a complete acceptance test in accordance with NFPA 72 Chapter 14. Every initiating device is tested for proper sensitivity and alarm response. Every notification appliance is verified for audibility and visibility coverage. All communication paths to the monitoring station are tested. The entire sequence of operations is validated to ensure the system performs exactly as designed. We coordinate the acceptance test with your local fire marshal or AHJ, and we provide all required documentation including as-built drawings, device inventories, and test records.

Panel Upgrades and Retrofits

Older fire alarm panels eventually reach the end of their serviceable life. Replacement parts become unavailable, software updates cease, and the panel may no longer meet current code requirements. Delta Fire Equipment specializes in fire alarm panel upgrades that modernize your system without requiring a complete building re-wire. In many cases, we can install a new addressable panel that uses your existing wiring infrastructure, dramatically reducing cost and construction disruption.

We also perform retrofit installations for buildings undergoing tenant improvements, occupancy changes, or code-mandated upgrades. Whether you need to add fire alarm coverage to a newly constructed mezzanine or bring a 1980s high-rise system up to current NFPA 72 standards, our team has the expertise and licensing to handle the project.

NFPA and CSFM Compliance

Every fire alarm system Delta installs, services, or tests is fully compliant with NFPA 72, California Title 19, California Title 24, and CSFM requirements. All equipment we install carries current CSFM listing and approval. Our technicians hold the appropriate state and local licenses for fire alarm work in California, and we maintain detailed records of every installation, test, and service visit for your compliance files.
