Fire Alarm Repair and Installation for Commercial Buildings
When a fire alarm panel is in trouble, beeping, throwing false alarms, or failing to communicate with the monitoring station, your building is at risk and your occupancy compliance may be too. Delta Fire Equipment repairs, upgrades, and installs commercial fire alarm systems for property managers, building owners, and facility teams across Southern California and statewide.
Fire alarm work is the core of what we do. Our licensed technicians diagnose the problem, explain what they found in plain language, and fix it, whether that means replacing a failed device, correcting a wiring fault, reprogramming the panel, or designing and installing a completely new system.

Fire Alarm Repair & Troubleshooting
A trouble or supervisory signal means the panel has detected a fault in its wiring, devices, power supply, or communication path. Our technicians trace the problem to its source rather than just clearing the panel. Common repair calls include:
- Trouble signals and ground faults on initiating or notification circuits
- False and nuisance alarms from dirty, failing, or misapplied detectors
- Failed devices including smoke and heat detectors, duct detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, and monitor and control modules
- Power supply and battery failures
- Communication failures between the panel and the monitoring station
- Deficiencies written up during an inspection or by the fire marshal
Fire protection doesn't keep business hours. For urgent problems, our 24/7 emergency line connects you to technicians who can dispatch: 1-800-983-8096.
Fire Alarm Panel Replacement & Upgrades
Older fire alarm panels eventually reach the end of their serviceable life. Replacement parts become unavailable, software updates stop, and the panel may no longer meet current code. We replace and upgrade fire alarm control panels (FACPs) to modern addressable systems. In many cases a new addressable panel can use your existing wiring infrastructure, which cuts cost and construction disruption compared with a full re-wire.
We also handle retrofits for tenant improvements, occupancy changes, and code-mandated upgrades, from adding coverage to a new space to bringing an older system up to current NFPA 72 standards.
New Fire Alarm System Design & Installation
New installations start with a site survey and code analysis covering occupancy classification, square footage, ceiling heights, ambient noise, and existing infrastructure. From there we handle the full project:
- Design: engineered drawings and device layouts for addressable, conventional, or networked systems
- Permitting: plan submittal to your local AHJ and coordination with architects, general contractors, and other trades
- Installation: panels, detectors, pull stations, notification appliances, modules, and annunciators
- Programming: device addresses, zones, notification circuits, and the building's sequence of operations
- Acceptance testing: a complete NFPA 72 acceptance test coordinated with your fire marshal or AHJ, plus as-built drawings, device inventories, and test records
All equipment we install carries CSFM listing and approval, and every system is built to NFPA 72, California Title 19, and California Title 24.
Monitoring Tie-In
A fire alarm only protects an unoccupied building if its signals reach someone who can act. We connect new and existing fire alarm systems to UL-listed central station monitoring and test the communication path so alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals are delivered.
Testing & Inspection
Once your system is repaired or installed, we can keep it compliant. We perform fire alarm testing and inspection with deficiency reports and compliance documentation your AHJ, insurer, or auditor can use. See Inspections & Compliance for details.

Fire Alarm Repair & Installation FAQ
Do you repair fire alarm systems you didn't install?
Yes. We troubleshoot and repair commercial fire alarm systems regardless of who originally installed them. Tell us the panel make and model and the trouble conditions you are seeing when you request service, and we will scope the visit.
My fire alarm panel is showing a trouble signal. What should I do?
Note what the panel display says, do not silence or disable the system to make the signal go away, and call us at 1-800-983-8096. A trouble signal means the panel has detected a fault in wiring, a device, power, or communication, and it needs to be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
Should I repair my old fire alarm panel or replace it?
It depends on the panel's age, parts availability, and whether it still meets current code. When replacement parts or software support are no longer available, a panel upgrade is usually the better investment. In many cases a new addressable panel can reuse existing wiring, which reduces cost and disruption. We will give you a straightforward recommendation after assessing the system.
Do you handle design, permits, and fire marshal acceptance for new installations?
Yes. New system projects include site survey and code analysis, engineered drawings and device layouts, plan submittal to the local AHJ, installation and programming, and an NFPA 72 acceptance test coordinated with your fire marshal or AHJ, followed by as-built drawings and test records.
Can you connect our fire alarm to 24/7 monitoring?
Yes. We offer UL-listed central station monitoring and can tie a new or existing fire alarm system into monitoring, then test the communication path so alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals reach the monitoring station.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Whittier and serve commercial properties throughout Los Angeles County, the San Gabriel Valley, and the Inland Empire, with service available statewide across California.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Delta Fire Equipment, Inc. is a licensed California C-10 electrical and C-16 fire protection contractor, CSLB #977859. You can verify our license, bond, and workers' compensation status at cslb.ca.gov. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
